The SIU School of Law Legal Clinic is the 2022 recipient of the Illinois State Bar Association’s Excellence in Legal Education Award. The ISBA’S highest clinic award, it’s given to recognize emphasis on real world skills for students. Our law students gain experience providing free legal services to help eligible people in four clinics.

Stepping up to help

Salukis are providing critical supplies and support to those battling the Covid-19 pandemic. We’re making protective plastic face shields for healthcare providers using 3D printing technology and we’re the first university in the state to deliver 10,000 vials of a critically needed Covid-19 test substance to health authorities.

Harvesting Light

Pravas Deria, chemistry/biochemistry assistant professor, and his students are working to assemble tiny metal-organic structures that potentially could convert the sun’s energy into stored chemical energy, similar to plant photosynthesis.
